The Future of Forza Racing League

With the close of the third season, the future of the FRL seemed hazy. The introduction of next generation consoles really threw a monkey wrench in things as far as "what next?" was concerned. Decisions needed to be made on what future game/console the FRL would adopt and the field was far from clear.

The biggest problem being that some drivers in the FRL wanted to move up to next gen consoles, while others wished to wait awhile longer to see which would provide the best options. Still others were simply not interested in an upgrade to next gen. The result has been stagnation and migration to other systems.

However, clarity may well be just around the corner and the FRL may be in a position to soon declare a new official console game to host FRL events. While Turn 10 studios certainly lost some swagger with Forza 5, their follow-up effort Forza 6 is certainly the most promising successor to Forza 4 to come along so far. Too, take into consideration the fact that Turn 10 is eluding to 'league racing' being supported, Forza 6 is certainly the front runner for a future Forzday Racing League restart. Stay tuned while we await further clarification on features of this title.

In the meantime, after polling past members of the FRL, it seems there are still a few with capability to race in Forza 4. Therefore, a race night of July 2nd is being announced to pop in for some heats on various tracks using classes and cars from previous FRL series races. Tracks and cars will be determined by participants in the lobby that night. The FRL lobby will open around 8pm. We look forward to seeing as many as can make it then.
