Bentonville, AR 12/28/16 - Coming on the heels of a dominating season of racing, Team Apex released this press announcement today:
Apex racing is proud to announce the signing of Matthew Smith and Nicholas Hargrove to the team. These two rookies have shown marked improvement over the course of season 6 of the FRL and will no doubt become key figures in the upcoming second season of FEC racing. Even though Apex is having pretty good success currently, we are always on the lookout for new talent that might be the next big driver for Apex. We saw that opportunity in Matt and Nick, and believe they will be of benefit to the team, and they to will benefit from the knowledge of working alongside veteran racers.
Andrew: “Entering the FRL as a new driver and a privateer can be a daunting task. But that is exactly what Matthew Smith and Nicholas Hargrove did this series. We saw in them, throughout the series, good solid driving. But more importantly, a want and desire to improve on their own driving abilities. So Apex Racing reached out to Matt and Nick so we could pool our resources, thus bettering the position of the team, and also pushing and developing ourselves as drivers. We look forward to working with Matt and Nick!
Nicholas: “I would first like to thank everyone who helped guide and direct me through my rookie season. I made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot thank you. I would like to also thank Team Apex for this great opportunity of bringing me on board their team. I am really excited and look forward to working with these veteran drivers, and learning from their past racing experience and can't wait to get started.”
Matthew Smith echoes the sentiment of Nicholas and was heard in the boardroom saying “Team Apex is gonna murder this season."
The team looks forward to getting to work on the second season of the FEC.
